As our readers are doubtless aware, Broken Hands Media is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri — City of Fountains, the Paris of the Plains. Readers may not be aware, however, that Kansas City is currently under a multi-day excessive heat warning. Temperatures just over the edge into the triple digits have combined with atmospheric humidity north of 75% for a heat index that’s somewhere uncomfortably close to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. While July was one of the hottest months on record, and it’s not the first time something like this has happened in Kansas City — it still sucks real bad. And as others have noted, while it’s certainly turning into one of the overall hottest summers of our lives, it’s only the hottest summer so far.

All this is to say, your editors are sweating to death. We’ll return to our regular content next week.
